1908
Our heritage began in 1908 with the founding of the American Fixture & Showcase Company in St. Louis, Missouri.
1937
In 1937, the Chromcraft brand was introduced with the company's first dinette furniture collection, establishing the brand that continues to define American dining comfort today.
1950's
During the 1950s, Chromcraft pioneered caster swivel dining chairs, helping define a new category of comfortable American dining furniture.
Star Trek Series
The Chromcraft Sculpta Chair, famously featured in the original Star Trek series, is an iconic piece of mid-century modern furniture design. Created in the 1960s, the chair is known for its sleek, futuristic appearance, characterized by clean lines and organic curves. Its sculpted fiberglass shell, paired with a swiveling metal base, evokes a sense of space-age innovation, perfectly aligning with the aesthetic of Star Trek's visionary setting. The Sculpta Chair's minimalist yet bold design makes it a standout piece that embodies the era's fascination with modernity and the future.
1960's
With business booming, Chromcraft built a new manufacturing facility in Senatobia, Mississippi with initially 250,000 Square Feet, which was later expanded to 640,000 square feet with demand for product continuing to increase. Chromcraft became the leading dinette manufacturer with superior quality and at a great value by being a low-cost producer.
1970's
Chromcraft becomes a household brand name by heavily investing advertising dollars in multiple media outlets. Consumers were exposed to the name Chromcraft Furniture on national television, newspapers nationwide and the very best “shelter” magazines such as Better Homes and Gardens, House Beautiful, House and Garden, 1,001 Decoration Ideas, Redbook, and Woman’s Day. American audiences turning on their television sets to see their favorite game shows saw Chromcraft sponsoring and participating in the hottest shows running on NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV.
1980
A CHROMCRAFT INNOVATION: Chromcraft introduces caster casual dining furniture to the marketplace. This innovation propels Chromcraft on to become the leader for innovation, style, and technology in the Casual Dining Furniture industry.
1990's
After merging with Peters Revington, an IPO occurs, and Chromcraft Revington Inc. is listed on the NASDAQ Stock Exchange. Chromcraft Revington Inc. then acquires Silver Furniture, Cochrane Furniture and Sumter Cabinet. Chromcraft becomes a major comprehensive furniture manufacturer that includes not only casual dining, but now occasional, bedroom, and upholstered furniture as well.
2000's
CHROMCRAFT growth continues in residential furniture and now ranks in the top 12 largest furniture manufacturers in the USA. Chromcraft simultaneously continues to develop their Contract Division started in the 1980’s and becomes a top producer for customers that include: *NASA * Government entities by GSA. *Delta, United, Southwest and Alaska Airlines *Major and reginal city airport seating.
Today
Chromcraft continues to innovate with patented caster swivel-tilt chairs, patented indoor and outdoor modular seating systems, and American craftsmanship that has been trusted for generations.
2010's
In 2014, Arts and Crafts Industries purchases Chromcraft IP assets and the new corporation of Chromcraft Revington Douglas Industries LTD is born.Chromcraft Revington Douglas purchases a new 400,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Sardis Mississippi and builds a warehouse and corporate headquarters in California. 2020's
The Chromcraft Team continues its long and rich heritage. They develop new innovative product with several patented features that create excitement in the marketplace and enhance consumer’s lives and lifestyles.
New divisions are introduced within the Chromcraft Home brand.
